Image Rotate and Flip — rotate or flip images

Runs 100% in your browser — nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored.

Rotate an image in 90-degree steps or any angle, flip it, and download a PNG. Everything happens on a local canvas.

0°

Rotations and flips are applied on a local canvas. Nothing is uploaded.

How the image rotate tool works

Open an image and rotate it in 90-degree steps, flip it horizontally or vertically, or set any angle with the slider. The result previews live and downloads as a PNG.

Frequently asked questions

Does rotating reduce quality?
Each rotation is a transform on the canvas. Saving to PNG keeps the pixels crisp.

Is my image uploaded?
No. The file is read locally and drawn on a canvas in the page.

What angle can I use?
Any whole angle from 0 to 359 degrees with the slider, plus the quick 90-degree and flip buttons.

How to use it

  1. Click Choose an image and select a file from your computer. The image appears on the canvas immediately.
  2. Click Rotate left 90°, Rotate right 90°, or Rotate 180° to turn the image in fixed increments. Click Flip horizontal or Flip vertical to mirror it along the corresponding axis.
  3. Move the Free angle slider to any value between 0° and 359° for a custom rotation. The preview updates as you drag.
  4. Click Download PNG to save the transformed image. The original file is not modified.

Where it comes in handy

A photographer exports a JPEG taken at 4032 by 3024 pixels in landscape orientation but needs it rotated 90° clockwise to match a portrait-oriented gallery layout. The tool handles the full resolution without recompressing the file.

A document scanner produces a PDF page that appears upside down. Rotating the exported image 180° corrects the orientation before inserting it into a report, avoiding manual editing in a dedicated application.

An app icon at 1024 by 1024 pixels is mirrored during design and needs to be flipped horizontally before publishing to the app store. The flip button corrects the orientation in one step.

Worth knowing

  • Rotating to a non-multiple-of-90° angle crops the corners slightly. A 45° rotation of a square image reduces the visible area because the canvas must fit the rotated bounds.
  • The free angle slider accepts whole degrees only. Setting 45.5° snaps to 45° or 46° depending on the control’s increment step.
  • Export is always PNG regardless of the original format. A JPEG source will be converted, and any embedded metadata such as EXIF is stripped during the process.
